Success tips for the new year

As we approach a new year, I want to empower and encourage you all to have an exceptional year ahead.  No matter what the previous year had in store for you, this is a new chance to wipe the slate clean and be open for all the amazing possibilities life has to offer. I am so excited because a new year, means a chance for new success in any area of your life.  I have written 10 tips for success for you to take on board to making the New Year one of your best yet.

  1. Believe you can succeed and you will. When you believe you can do it, then the ‘how to’ will come along. Think success and don’t think failure. It is also important to remind yourself throughout the year that you are better than you think you are.

  2. Believe Big. The size of your success is determined by the size of your belief.

  3. Practice adding value to things, people and most importantly yourself. Think about what special favours you could do for others, and how to also invest in yourself.

  4. If you are fortunate to be in any sort of employment (self- employed or working for someone) always show positive attitudes toward your job. If you are in employment that allows you the ability to work closely with other people, make sure you have a positive mental attitude that is contagious so that your colleagues will ‘pick up” your positive energy!

  5. As you approach your life each day, self- awareness should be one of your goals. Do you have habits that are worth being imitated by others? Do you have behaviours that you would be glad to see in other people? Motivational speaker Zig Ziglar said it best when he noted “Is my attitude worth catching?”

  6. When facing a problem, start with believing it can be done. Don’t allow tradition to paralyze your mind. Always think progressively: how can I make it better? Believing something can be done always leads to solutions. Another way to succeed is to condition your mind to always think of why you CAN do it. There has to be a better way, and there usually is!

  7. There are no rewards for shrinking violets, therefore life is too short to be lived little. We must enlarge our imagination of ourselves and act upon it.

  8. Every big success is created one step at a time, therefore it is best to measure yourself against the goals you have set, rather than comparing yourself to others. World wide motivator Tony Robbins said “the path to success is to take massive, determined action.”

  9. Dale Carnegie, author of How to Win Friends and Influence People quoted “let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you. Live today with gusto”. I believe we should live our days filled enthusiasm, positivity  every. Try using positive language, and see how it can amazingly transforms your mood and the perceptions of others.

  10. The best investments are self-investments which develops and cultivates the mind, which in turn improves the way you think. Due to this, by the end of the year, I hope this will empower you to surround yourself with other people who are going places via positive role -modelling.

As we enter into a new year, the road to success is found by trying out new things and being experimental. My wish is for us all, is to keep moving forward in the direction of our dreams and live a life that is above average.

Please also remember that the  measure of success must never be relative to how much wealth a person acquires whilst they’re on earth. Instead success should be measured by how much a person invests in helping those that need it and becoming a better version of yourself.
